“Life’s up and downs provide windows of opportunity
to determine your values and goals –
Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones
to build the life you want”
Marsha Sinetar
Affirmation: I welcome new opportunities into my life each day.
“Each day that I am alive, my possibilities are endless. I make decisions constantly, whether I am conscious of them or not. In each of these moments of choice, there are many opportunities. I embrace these and welcome them into my life each day.
When I get up in the morning, I have an opportunity to start fresh in every way. I can make different choices than I did the day before, or I can make the same choices again. The decision is mine.
Down each path lies new possibilities, whether that road is the same or different than the ones that I have taken before.
If I find that I have responded to a situation in a way that I would do differently next time, I can choose to amend my behavior. When a similar circumstance presents itself again, I welcome the possibility to choose a different path. I am thankful that life is full of such opportunities.
I know that I may be unable to control other people, places, or things, but I can always decide how I will respond to them. What I make of a situation determines its impact on my life. So I see each circumstance as a new opportunity.
Today, I welcome all of the possibilities that come with each new decision I make.
I feel confident in my ability to respond to changing circumstances in a way that reflects my highest vision of myself.
And I recommit each and every day to making the best decisions I can.”
Homework: Self-Reflection Questions
1. What are some opportunities that have presented themselves to me today?
2. What are some decisions I have recently made that I am proud of?
3. Are there situations in my life in which I would like to make different choices the next time they arise?
This short term experiment will conclude at the end of the year.
I am currently running these posts every Sunday in preparation for our week ahead. But I need for you to do four things for me.
1. Read the affirmation and statement aloud to yourself.
2. Write out your answers to the self-reflective questions. You don’t have to share them if you don’t want to, but write them down for your own benefit and boost.
3. Subscribe. If we continue this series, the only way you will get it on a regular basis is to subscribe.
4. Comment. I don’t usually press for comments, but as I continue to consider adding this additional feature to the blog, I am asking for feedback. If you liked it, or didn’t. If you see ways that I can tweak it to make it work better for you. If you found the exercise helpful or not. If you had some kind of breakthrough, epiphany or wake up call. If you’d rather get this as a newsletter on a monthly basis. Anything…
Ok?
See you next week!
