“Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion”
~ Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
Following your life’s passions fill you with personal power and awakens you to the beauty of the world. It leads you to the heart of your spiritual journey as it changes your thoughts, perceptions, and feelings. Finding your true passion does not promise an easy life or necessarily a rich life, but it does open is up to hopes and possibilities.
How do I find my passion?
1. Speak your truths clearly – To find your passion you must speak your truths and prepare yourself for new adventures. It is vitally important that you are honest with yourself when you’re looking for your passion. Know what really matter to you? What truly makes you happy? What the things do best? What things make you feel complete?
2. Open yourself up to support. You are not an isolated being. You need the support of family, friends and positive-minded social circle that will help you reach your goals.
3. Use all of your senses. Open up all of your senses. When you open up your senses, you tend to feel more peaceful, serene and comfortable in your environment. This allows you to be more patient and be reminded of the cycle of nature. When you experience this you become more positive and calm.
4. The gift of time. Give yourself a time for pleasure. Enjoy the freedom to do the things that brings you pleasure. To find your passion you must allow yourself a time for pleasure. For many of you, allowing yourself time to pursue pleasures induces guilt as it is not “productive” and may hinder you from getting important things accomplished. But this is not correct. Gentle pleasures are good to your health and are productive. By allowing yourself time for pleasure you become more focused and passionate in your job.
5. Free your mind. Liberate yourself. A person who finds her passion is a truly wise person. Doing a work that reflects your personality and values promises you lifelong happiness and contentment. Life feels easier and more liberating when we accept who we are and we allow other people to accept us too. The human psyche is a holistic system, to numb one part of our being is to eventually numb the rest and create constant internal turmoil.
6. Affirmations. Feed yourself with affirmations. On this blog, I usually post affirmations on the weekend . I use affirmations daily, and so should you. Affirmations are important in finding your passion in life because they make you feel secure and optimistic about reaching your goals. Many people don’t get to their destinations out of fear of failure, or worse, fear of success.
You should by all means, allow yourself to get upset by some downturns, but quickly regain your footing and your focus, pulling yourself together so that you can get back on track again. Affirmations will help you do this.
7. Clean up your crew. You may find yourself spending time with people who produce a negative influence on you, pushing you toward thinking negatively about yourself or your current situation. It’s not always easy to shut them out of your life. But, it is far easier to practice blocking the negative energies that they keep them in your life. Trying to stay positive around negative people takes an emotional toll; it can make you crazy. Add some positive people to your surroundings, and get good uplifting energy from them.
Finding your passion is that endless song that plays inside your head. When you do the things that you are passionate about you allow your life to flourish. You let yourself connect to everything that you are – in mind, in heart, and in spirit. You become a stronger person who can face challenges better because you feel reinforced and reassured by being able to do the things you love. You feel more alive, positive, self-respecting, and determined. You live your life with confidence and high morale. And, you feel you are contributing goodness and positivism to the people in your life.
