“I am powerful in my love for myself.
The truth of my being is I love myself
exactly as I am.
I honor my empowered heart.”
Valentine’s Day is approaching. And, like many other days, it is wonderful for many, and dreary for others. But, as you have read here time, and time again, how we react, how we show up and what we do are things that we can choose.
But, here’s first thing…
Many of life’s “choices,” we simply wander through mindlessly. Accepting that the way things are, are the way they must always be. This is not really choosing. This is barely living.
A grand day, or a day to remember bygone times, whatever it is…I vote that you choose gratitude!
Gratitude that you are still breathing.
Gratitude that you can still get up and go to work.
Gratitude that you can sing, smile, write, send a card, invite folks over for tea or coffee.
Gratitude that you can offer comfort to someone else.
Gratitude that you are yourself. That what you bring into the world is unique.
Valentine’s Day, or whatever name you have chosen to give it is not simply about showing love, affection or appreciation for and to others.
Nor is it a day for sitting around lamenting that no one sent you a rose or a card.
Valentine’s Day is a day of love, remembrance and gratitude.
And, here is the second thing…
It is hard, if not impossible to give others what we do not possess.
When was the last time you were gentle with yourself, or gave yourself love, affection, self-care, appreciation?
What special thing will you do for you?
